The office will send the dues to our societies in due time. I stimulate all the member societies to send their dues as soon as possible and take care of the debts of past years if existing. Your society needs to pay the dues in order to have voting rights. More important IFOS as your World Federation has limited funds to do all the International Work and your dues are necessary to complete the work.
The World Congress of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology, Head&Neck Surgery is held every four years in a member country of the International Federation of Oto-Rhino-Laryngological Societies (IFOS).
The site and duration of each congress is decided by a majority vote of the IFOS General Assembly and finalized by the signing of a contract. The meeting may not be held in the same country twice within 30 years. There are no rules concerning rotation through continents although global movement is considered desirable. There must be no discrimination as to race, colour, nationality or creed.
This call is for the meeting in 2013 and will be voted for during the XVIIII World Congress in 2009. The World Congress in 2009 will be held in Sao Paulo, Brazil. This call for application for 2013 is opened for all member nations.
The Committee on World Congress Applications now solicits such applications for review and recommendations to the General Assembly. For those countries that have interest and capability of hosting such large meetings, may submit a bid book to the IFOS Office no later than January 15th , 2007.
The committee especially solicits applications from those member countries that have never before hosted the World Congress.
Full Regulations and a draft contract for the Congress can be obtained from the office of the General Secretary, to whom expression of interest and completed applications should also be sent
